Eaten Alive

Two nights ago, after Shay and I settled in for a good nights rest, I felt a painful pinch on my back. I quickly itched at it and it started to burn. What was that I wondered? Being too lazy to do anything about it I turned onto my other side and tried to go back to sleep. That didn't last long....soon after I felt a strong burning sensation on the back of my right arm. OUCH! It really hurt! I jumped out of bed and went into the bathroom to see what it was that was causing me so much pain. I turned my PJs inside out to see if there was something hidden in there. Nothing. After extensive unsuccessful looking I decided to go back to bed only to be awakened AGAIN! This time I turned on the lights, flipped back the sheets and scoured the entire bed. I returned to the bathroom and removed everything.....nothing! I looked on my body and didn't really see anything. What? At that point I started to think I was dreaming it up so I put myself back into bed and forced myself to sleep.

Well yesterday morning when I woke up my eye hurt. When I went into the bathroom I noticed my face had huge red "zits" on it (at least that is what I thought they were):

"WHAT??? I am not 16!" I thought.

What is going on...then I noticed my eye:

It looked like I had a huge sty. It itched....and of course I obliged only to feel the burning wrath of pain respond....which didn't subside for a VERY long time.

I looked closer:

I had two bites on my eye.....yup, TWO! One on the lid, which is very visible in the above picture and one above it closer to the brow.

Then the memories of the night before came flooding back. I immediately removed my PJs only to discover that I had literally been EATEN!!!

(Noticed the redness in the arms as well....yep those are all bits as well)

My back looks like some creature got stuck in my PJs and worked its way up over my shoulder and down my arm before taking a snack on my face and then back to the other side of my body:

I can actually follow it's trail--SO GROSS!!!!!!

They hurt, itch and burn like crazy! I am SO done with this crappy wet weather that has only multiplied the insect population by a trillion!

Yesterday, as well as today, I am finding a few new "bite discoveries."

Now here is what is really bugging me--no pun intended! :-)

Shay does not have ONE STINKING BITE!!!! OH NO, NOT ONE! Don't get me wrong, I don't wish a bug bite on him....but how is it he can escape the wrath of "insect Satan" while sleeping in the same bed with me and I can't????? Why am I so "yummy?"

Well, I came up with a solution:
Insect repellent to bed. Not ideal---but this morning I woke up with no additional bites! I am going to bug bomb my entire house next.

Insect Satan, I am sorry but you are going to die....if you haven't already!
